the consise option is the the most horrible update ever. the sentences in the skill descriptions don't make any sense at all. what else should i expect from the reasoning of a company who allows the use of names of illegal drugs but bars people from their servers for cursing?

i'm sorry, i was being a bit vague. my point is, the ethical behavior of anet. they allow the use of names of illegal drugs and the dumbing down of children, evident by the shortened skill descriptions, yet they believe curse words are bad.

don't get me wrong. i am in no way saying i don't hope that 99% of the gw community burns in hell and that if they came to me, bleeding from the eyes that i wouldn't throw them to the wolves. i'm just saying anet is hypocrite pieces of...

Right. Shorter skill descriptions = Endorsment of drugs.
With comments like that, I believe you are just a troll. Please ignore him folks.

Believe it or not, longer is not always better. I've had many college professors mark DOWN if you are too verbose.

Picked traditional. Why change something that wasnt a problem in the first place? This game has a rating of T for a reason. Anyone should be able to read by then :P

maybe i didn't word it correctly.
i said they allow the use of names of illegal drugs. i'm sure i could have found more but, the 2 below are the only words i tried. it seems funny to me that some of the most harmless words are banned from use in guild wars but these aren't.

Imo, banning those words is a waste of time, they should spend the time banning bots...
Big deal it says LSD, Big deal someone has drugs in his nickname... Put on the tv for 2 seconds and you see someone blowing someone elses head off, and btw, gw isnt too kid-friendly either? Cutting someones head off, torching someone and shooting them with bow & arrow... Ban GW tbh...

YES! i totally agree. so why do they ban people for cursing?
i'm calling out everything anet stands for as being a disgusting, delusional, hypocrisy and i totally love it. i just want to be able to tell someone to go RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO themself when they're in need of it, without losing my gw account for 72 hours.

They don't just ban for curses, they ban for abusive language and evading the filter. The acronym for a drug is absolutely meaningless to someone who doesn't already know what it is, and "Coke" may as well just be a drink. Not to mention the fact that the game is rated T; every 13 year old knows that there are drugs out there, not every 13 year old (or 20, 30, 50, etc) wants to see you cursing at them.

As for this being grammatically incorrect....so? The point of the skill description is to get the necessary information to the player; these shorter versions just do that faster and on a cleaner template, which is stylistically preferable to messy descriptions that use things like "negative conditions". That can only confuse people really. It's much like the transition from random ass descriptions on MtG cards, to the very structured and formatted versions we have in newer sets.

I chose concise just to check it out, and I actually like it more than traditional. I had no problems with the old skill descriptions, but concise gets rid of some of the useless info. Now, I prefer concise as I like to keep it simple.

its more confusing now then before, because now i have to re-read everything, when i use to know what the skill does, now its like its a different thing.
